Trust
What do business, UX Design, and politics have in common?
Trust. Which is everything.
In business, politics, everyday life.
If people don’t trust you, you can’t have a business. They won’t buy from you.
You can’t have friends. Or, build a family. Let alone, shape a society.
Once you look for it, you see that trust is the invisible glue keeping society together.
I believe, we’re witnessing an erosion of trust.
This is honestly scary.
Less trust in institutions.
Less trust in businesses.
Less trust in politicians.
Less trust in the people around you.
Less trust in ourselves.
Explaining the reasons and consequences of this phenomenon is outside the scope of this post. Here, I want to share a message.
Not all is lost.
Me and you; we can change this.
At work, as a UX Designer, I want to help businesses build trust with their users.
With honesty, honor, integrity. How can I be a good designer otherwise?
At home, I want to build trustful relationships with friends and family.
I want my word to have value. And my actions to follow it.
You can do the same.
In a sea of doubt and mistrust, let’s be like lighthouses.
