Being productive late in life

Can we be productive at 97?

“I hope that, at 97, I’ll be like him.“

I kept thinking this since after visiting the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation last week.

Mr. Pomodoro’s career is fascinating, and it keeps going on to this day.

Yes, with age, it has become more challenging to engage in the more physical part of being an artist. But this Italian sculptor keeps working on his projects with the help of collaborators.

He’s still productive and impactful!
This really caught my attention. Even though he can’t physically work, his art is so interesting that many people around him are still celebrating it!

The Foundation’s staff is made of young, kind, intelligent men and women, supportive of his creative endeavors (of the past and present).

Both Milanese art lovers and people from out of town keep coming to his studio to enjoy his works and be inspired by the place where he produces them.

So, yes.

We can be productive at 97. Arnaldo Pomodoro is the proof of that.
